On the last Saturday (23,03 2013) hundreds of millions of people around the all world turned off lights in their home and cities for Earth Hour at 8:30pm to 9:30pm.

What is WWF?

WWF is worldwide event organized by World Wildlife Fund .
Their mission is to build a future in which people live in harmony with nature.The event, conceived by WWF first took place in 2004 in Australia in Sydney, when 2.2 million residents of Sydney and 2.000 companies participated by turning off all lights.

In Slovakia 
Earth Hour was first held in Slovakia in 2011 with 64 towns and municipalities switching off. The Slovak capital Bratislava and the cities of Košice, Prešov, Banská Bystrica, Trencín and Trnava took part. 7 hotels, 22 companies, 2 major shopping centers, 7 schools and Spis Castle, one of the largest castles in Europe and tens of thousands of people were involved. Earth Hour in Slovakia is coordinated by a Section of protection against light pollution.
