Demitra was named to Team
Slovakia for the 2010 Winter Olympics in his NHL hometown Vancouver. Slovakia was ranked in fourth place. And in
this tournament Pavol Demitra ended with his
career for Slovak hockey team and he started play only for Lokomotiv Yaroslavl. Lokomotiv Yaroslavl plane
crash occurred on 7 September 2011. It was very sad and unexpected. It was big pitty because he was one of the best Slovak hockey player.
Awards and achievements
Awarded the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy in 2000.Played in the NHL All-Star Game in 1999, 2000 and 2002.All-star selection and leading scorer of the 2010 Olympic hockey tournament.Fifth on St. Louis Blues' all-time scoring list – 204 goals, 289 assists, 493 points in 494 games.Team Slovakia retired Demitra's no. 38 jersey on 11 September 2011. HC Dukla Trenčín retired Demitra's no. 38 jersey on 16 September 2011.
I added to us some videos because I want to show to you that Pavol Demitra was very good person and the best hockey player for me. He was very important for me because I think he was very kind ,grateful and skilled person .He lived for game which he played in that moment and i think that is the first reason why people liked him :)
